HCMC sued a Korean company due to wage and insurance debt
Because of wage and insurance debt nearly VND 2.6 billion, leaders of
Jtex Vina escaped after selling all factories and machines.
Vice President of HCMC People’s Committee requires HCMC Social
Insurance to sue Jtex Vina Co., Ltd because of prolonged debt. This legal
action aims to protect rights and duties of employees of this company.
The leader of HCMC People’s Committee also offers General consulate
of South Korean in HCMC to have responsibility of supporting to settle the
debts of salaries, bonuses for employees.
According to the statement of People’s Committee of District
9, in March 25th, Jtex Vina held a meeting to announce that this company would lay
off whole workers after transferring the factories and machines to BumHyun Vietnam
Co., Ltd (South Korean). Employees will have a chance to sign the labor contract
with new company.
It could be said that the actions of Jtex Vina has seriously
violated Vietnamese law. Enforcement department of District 9 distrained assets,
but leaders of Jtex Vina escaped and sold all assets to BumHyun Vietnam with VND 6.6 billion (without
notarization).
As a consequence, in March 26th, the Enforcement
department of District 9 has sent a document to HCMC Department of Customs, General
Administration of Customs and required to prevent the goods in the name “Vina
Jtex”.
