Propose visa exemption for Package tour of foreigners

Foreign tourists who travel to Vietnam by package tours of international tour operators may be exempted visa.

This is the announcement of the General Director of the General Department of Tourism, Mr Nguyen Van Tuan, in the conference which reviewed activities of the first three months.
In around the world, Visa exemption has been considered as an advantage in order to appealing foreign visitors. There are a number of countries in South East Asia applying this form such as Malaysia, Singapore or Thailand, especially Indonesia with Visa exemption policy for 79 countries simultaneously (Now they has applied Visa exemption policy for 169 countries).
According to Mr. Tuan, this is an objective trend and Vietnam should not be the exception. General Department of Tourism will persistently propose policy of prolonged Visa exemption for the citizens of five West Europe countries which are going to be expired from July 1st 2016.
Furthermore, this organ also proposed the unilateral visa exemption plan for thirteen countries if their visitors selected the Package Tour of International Tour companies of Vietnam. If the proposal is approved, some experts said, it can help not only rise the rate of tourist to travel destinations but also bind responsibilities for tour operators.

In advance, Vietnam exempted Visa for five countries as Germany, France, Italia, the United Kingdom and Spain until June 30th 2016, it also means that citizens of these countries exempt visa if they stay in Vietnam within fifteen days. In practice, this policy has taken effect when the rate of tourists from these countries increased steadily each month.
