First Chairwoman of National Assembly in Vietnam

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has become to the first Chairwoman of National Assembly in Vietnamese history in this morning, March 31, 2016.

Head of the voting committee, Mr. Huynh Van Ty said that, there were 472 participants (95%) which agreed Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan to be the Parliament’s President. Ms. Ngan will replace Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung who just resigned yesterday afternoon.
In 484 delegates, there were 09 disagreed and 03 invalid votes.
With the title of Chairman of the National Assembly elections, there were 467 delegates (91%) who agreed that Ms. Ngan could receive new tasks, while there were 10 disagreed and 03 invalid votes.
Thus, pursuant on Vietnamese law and rules, Ms. Kim Ngan was elected President of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the National Assembly elections. Proposal Resolution on the election of two above titles is passed through by all delegates.
In Vietnam history, this is the first time that Parliament has a female president. Mr. Le Nhu Tien said that Ms. Ngan has demonstrated the important role of Vietnamese women in leadership and management of nation.
